NatWest - Full and comprehensive range to explore. Complete online service from this bank, offering all sorts of different options. Including tips on buying a car and holiday spending money calculator.

first-e - Banking online. Not totally free of charges, but these are for international transfers etc. Comparison of rates with other available branch-based services.

Lloyds TSB - Online arm of LloydsTSB. Free online banking from Lloyds TSB. Offers range of services e.g. check balance, transfer between accounts. Backed by telephone service, which you must join at same time.

Barclays - Online banking. Barclays online services. Check balance, standing orders, direct debit etc. Free for personal customers, but branch account is required. Free internet access.

First Direct - PC banking. Fee free PC banking, supported by free software and telephone help line. Normal range of services offered, 24 hour access.

Woolwich - Banking and other services. Details of internet banking, alongside insurance, mortgage and loan services.

Nationwide - Details of how to register for internet banking. Offers range of online services, but it is not a very large one. Includes account info.

Bank of Scotland - Online banking. Free online banking from Bank of Scotland. Need to be a customer, so transfer of accounts necessary. No charges, range of services.

Fidelity - Online investment advice. Open an ISA, PEP, or any of a few investment accounts on this site dedicated to making money grow. Charges may apply, not immediately obvious.

Citicorp - Good online banking. Offers free internet access and e-mail. Good if speedy demo on opening account and services. Branches in London only, so support is limited.

BNP - Offshore banking (Switzerland). Ordinary site detailing activities of BNP. However, good currency/Euro converter to give value at yesterday's prices. Text based with a few pictures.

Co-operative Bank - Details of telephone banking accounts. Differs from Smile, but some internet banking available here, and all the info is there to set up a phone banking account.

Legal and General - L&G Online. Info on the range of services offered, including the PEPs and pensions details. Lots more on offer including investment advice.

National Savings - National Savings online. Information about Premium Bonds and other national Savings options. No online services. Check with Ernie to see if you are a winner!

HSBC - Television banking. Take remote control of your money' by using your TV set to complete transactions.

Friends Provident - Financial services. Range of investment and pension plans from this company, including costings and returns.

Abbey National - Information about Abbey National services. Online leaflet detailing Abbey National services, accounts and rates. No opportunity for online account, but saves a trip to the branch.

Visa & Mastercard Locators - Pinpoint ATM machines world-wide. Excellent site for finding that elusive cash machine. Type in an address, and the 3 nearest appear on-screen, accompanied by a map. Other Visa info available.

British Bankers' Association - Info about banking. Sound, solid, impartial advice about online banking and shopping, with all FAQ's answered comprehensively. Good start point if thinking about online account.

Find - financial directory - Banking info. Tells you if which banks have online access. Listing of all online and PC accounts, with links to each.
